You’re a flame in the starlight, you are a beacon to all, this apocalyptic nightlight, you are their curtain call. But know we won’t stray easy, we feel a power climbing out of the rough, we’re like a bomb, waiting to silence your hush…
I don’t mean to harm you, but I want, I want your blood in my veins… I’m way past alarming you, but this twilight made a monster of me…
And in the rubble we build, a new life with sticks and stones, this elemental shifting will mend all our broken bones, you see the truth in our eyes, well your best just isn’t enough, this wave is quenching your fires, and you’re losing your kingdom come…
Little teeth, little tongue, little veins, little blood…
I don’t mean to harm you, but I want, I want your blood in my veins… I’m way past alarming you, but this twilight made a monster of me…
“The 1% has always viewed us as cattle, something they can direct, to control and feed off of when needed. In short, they survive on the sweat of our brow and they keep us occupied by creating divides and new shiny things for us to keep ourselves fixated on.
If we pushed back against this control, this misdirection they have eloquently held in place, we could find our place in this world, free from tyranny, free to live our lives without constraints. In many ways now, we have a type of freedom, but the chains are so clever that we hold ourselves to them without a hint of hesitation.
The chorus line, ‘I don’t mean to harm you, but I want your blood in my veins’. Is the 1% looking at their cattle and knowing they need us to keep their position strong, but also knowing they’re going to use us till be we die, they steal our life blood so to speak. The second line, ‘I’m way past alarming you, but this twilight’s made a monster of me’ is the reply to the first, the reply of an awakening, and shift in consciousness and being.
A moment of transcendence to something bigger than we were before, a monster in the eyes of those who want us to stay exactly how we’ve always been, we will become an instrument in their undoing, the twilight they project through all their underhanded ways will ironically transform us into monsters that will haunt them of the night. As in other societies the power of many can rise up to crush the tyranny of the few. All it takes is a little spark…”
